Community Townhalls

From time to time, the board may call together a townhall meeting for the purposes of discussing critical and poignant issues affecting Sharon South.

These are informal meetings where no minutes are taken, no actions are taken, no motions are made, and no voting is conducted. The purpose is to discuss the issues in a calm, clear, and neighbor-like fashion without hype and grandstanding, as such behavior is not only undesirable, it is unproductive and fruitless.

Meetings in the Ballroom:

Open Forum

When the monthly meeting is held in the ballroom (generally once per quarter, as announced in the newsletter), the floor is opened up for homeowners in good standing to express any concerns or questions they may have.

Please note, however, that, per NC state law, the board is granted the right to restrict the amount of time spent in receiving open discussion from the floor and in no way is a reflection on the value of your voice. There is much work to which the board must attend, and therefore time is limited.

Meetings in the Conference Room:

Executive Format

On months when the monthly meeting is held in the conference room, homeowners in good standing are invited to attend board business as observers.

However, unlike the open forum of the ballroom setting, if you wish to address the board, you are requested to contact the Board Secretary in advance of the meeting in order to be placed on the agenda. Email the board secretary: secretary@sharonsouthhomes.com

If you are not on the agenda, you may address the board once the meeting is adjourned.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

The general procedures outlined in Robert’s Rules of Order are observed for the purposes of affecting an orderly, efficient, and civil public meeting.

(There is no open community meeting in December, as the board meets in closed session to discuss and vote on the upcoming calendar year budget.)
